Galvanized and coated-steel products should be selected by base thickness plus coating/paint system, profile geometry and project exposure. GI, PPGI, Aluzinc, insulated panels, corrugated sheets, decking, purlins, drywall profiles, strut systems and GI pipe each need different RFQ details.
For coils and sheets, include coating mass or paint system where specified, width/size and processing route. For profiled sheets and decking, add profile, length, laps and support spacing. For purlins and strut, add section dimensions, holes/slots and finish.
Roofing and cladding packages should be coordinated as a system: sheets, ridges, curves, gutters, flashings, purlins and fastener details need compatible profiles and finishes. Insulated panels also require core, skin and joint information from the envelope specification.
Coating requirements should follow the drawing, BOQ and exposure condition. A thicker substrate does not automatically compensate for an incorrect coating or paint specification.
